Having hardwood flooring installed can completely alter the look of your house, giving it a feeling of luxury and class. Whenever you have friends or family around, whether this is for a full sized dinner party or just a quick cup of tea and a catch up, your hardwood flooring will be one of the first things they will notice upon arrival.
If you find yourself entertaining guests on a regular basisyou may of course want to show off your home's best features, but at the exact same time you are going to want to protect your hardwood flooring from any possible harm from increased use. This is particularly true when you're entertaining multiple guests, then holding a dinner party, cocktail evening, or even something similar, in which there'll be groups of people, as well as food and drinks. You don't want to attempt to be too strict and apply rules upon your guests, but there are a couple of straightforward things you can do to ensure your floors do not get ruined, while being a good host.
One way you can reduce the risk of harm to your floor is by requesting guests to remove their shoes. This is especially true with high heels, which can lead to damage to wooden floors. This might not always be possible, however, but in the very least you can leave doormats about for people to wipe their feet before entering. This will cut the amount of dirt and grit being walked on your floor.
Another easy but effective way to protect your floor is to put some rugs round the space. You can get some beautiful rugs that will complement the appearance of your area, while still providing protection for your floors. Although it is impossible to completely avoid any spillages, should you detect any food or beverage spilled on your flooring, be sure to clear this up as quickly as possible, before it gets a chance to soak or stain your floor.
The most important point to consider, however, is to just relax and revel in yourself!
